We went to Falls Creek to ski for a week in July 2016. What an eventful week it was! We had to weather the snow storm for the first few days, with ski lift wind hold for two half-days and even power outage for a few hours. Julia was trapped in the ski school for a few hours, as the Falls Creek chair lift leading up to the ski school was on wind hold, and it was too dangerous for ski beginners and young kids to ski down in the snow storm. They had to come down the ski slope in batches in snowcats, with the young kids the last to come down.
After the snow storm, we had great skiing in good snow conditions and blue bird days. Just when we thought we could have a grand finale by skiing all together down the Last Hoot ski slope, the front few took the wrong turn and went down the Fast Hoot instead. As the name suggested, the Fast Hoot was too fast and uneven for the tired legs of Amanda and Jiali. They fell a couple of times and even had to walk down the last stretch of the ski slope. Poor CK had to walk up and down the ski slope to help the two ladies after they fell, and even had to snowboard down that last stretch holding two pairs of skis. Lucas also skiied into and got stuck in a little tree area, and had to be carried back to the ski slope by CK.
Luckily, the car ride down the mountain was less dramatic, though Julia and Lucas suffered from car sickness and vomitted.
